The John Naka Endowment Fund
After John Naka's passing on May 19, 2004, the National Bonsai Foundation received numerous monetary contributions in his memory. In response to this worldwide outpouring of support, the John Naka Endowment Fund was established.

Alice Naka, John's widow, was touched by all the contributions. It was her wish that the endowment fund be used for bonsai education and upkeep of the John Y. Naka North American Pavilion at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, D.C.
