A view of Mitsuyasan's Tokai-en nursery from a second-story window. Instead of a traditional Japanese garden, the front yard of the Mitsuya home has several rows of large benches. Along the property's perimeter are numerous pedestals with medium-sized trees. There are at least 100 magnificent bonsai on the property: some are owned by Mitsuyasan; others are owned by clients and kept in the nursery for maintenance or preparation for entry into shows.
