Kids, Too...

Our family of three children started early and was completed late. Michael came along the year after we were married (15 months, for those of you who immediateley wanted to start counting). Daniel joined him about 2½ years later. But Michelle (Shelley) held out until we were married almost 20 years. In fact, Shelley and Mom came home from the hospital the same day Mike first got married and moved out. So two kids were the most we ever had at home at any one particular time.

Mike has always been an avid ham (amateur radio) enthusiast. He was first licensed when only 12 and has held an Extra class license - WD6E - for many years. He now lives in Santa Cruz County of California out in the country where he can erect his "antenna farm" without complaints from neighbors. He graduated from Fullerton State in 1972. Our grandchildren from Mike are Caitlin and Andrew.

Dan is the computer guy. Seems everybody has a computer "whiz" somewhere in the family, but Dan truly understands what makes them tick. He has applied this knowledge to the medical field, and as a result holds the only seat on the board of directors of The Society of Anesthesiologists who is not an M.D. He was wise enough to attend the technical course at Control Data Corp. and it has paid off handsomely - he now operates his own computer consulting firm. Our grandchildren from Dan are Ryan and Aubrey.

Shelley, the baby of the family, was of course, spoiled rotten. But she demonstrated fortitude by being on her own since sixteen and then graduating college cum laude. She was intimidated at first by her brothers skill in technology but gradually became familiar with writing web pages and now is Web Project Manager for Cisco Systems. Shelley became a proud mother on September 3, 1999 to Lillian Catherine.
