The Early Years It all began for me in mid October 1978. If I remember correctly it was around 3pm in the afternoon. After 19 hours of labor. And some drugs. Long Beach California is where I first took my first steps into the world. Which I'm sure was pretty scary at times, but hey looks like I did all right. My father was in banking so I really don't remember too much of my child hood before the 1st grade. He was transferred around a lot and we would move back and forth from the Fresno area to the Orange County areas of Southern California. The Middle Years We finally moved and settled down for the next 12-13 years in Temecula. Temecula is about 1 hour or so south of Anaheim (Disneyland for you non-socal people), and another hour north of San Diego. Which makes it really centrally located throughout Southern California. I started here in the 2nd grade with Mrs. Farmer (and don't ask me how I can remember her name) at Rancho Elementary which was a brand new school at the time. After that middle school then onto High School where some major changes in my life took place. Special Note I want to make sure I don't make the Temecula Valley School system come off as a horrible place. While it does have its problems, and I'm sure they all due, it gave me probably one of the best.. Person I have ever known throughout a school system. Her name is Dr. Karen Dubrull. I'm not exactly sure if I spelled that correctly. She used to work for the Temecula Middle School as the principal. A wonderful lady who was the most friends and the most helpful person I have ever known. I was in a wheal chair for the first year I was supposed to go there because of some surgery on my legs. She made every accommodation for me. Setup every outside teacher meeting. And.. Just the best thing in the world there. I can't say enough good things about her. If she ever does read this, or if anybody who knows her read this please pass along her email address. I would love to touch up. I would also like to make a point that every instructor I had there was wonderful. Especially Mrs. Kane and Mr. Begily (Don't know about that spelling), and my Home-ech teacher who I cant remember the name of. All wonderful people who left a long lasting impression on my life and I wish all good things for these people. Thank you for everything you did for me. The Middle (Almost to Current) Years My first step into High School was the lovely Temecula Valley High. Extremely over crowded and under funded, which of course was mainly do to the fact that the board member's of the school district kept giving themselves raises, and really not to well ran. It was actually pretty good in the beginning. I had a lot of fun working on a School Newspaper (Not exactly the official version), and our school Yearbook (something I had been a part of since I was in middle school), and just the general point of school. Believe it or not I love to learn. School was fun. Which leads me to where my life started to take a dramatic change. We decided one day while sitting in the middle of another lecture where the teacher was trying to.. Well teach and the students where out of control. Something rather common at the time (I cant really say if it has changed). Anyway my friends and I starting to get sick of this, mainly because we where actually there for a purpose, decided to go to some board meetings and talk with the principal. Well to make a long story short they decided not to fund any extra teaching for us (something we where prepared to do ourselves if somebody would just collect homework once a week and administer tests!). This caused major problems. We took this to the board. People in the school didn't like that and we started getting unfair treatment. Teachers would take us aside and yell at us for complaining about their teaching habits. Just really Horrible I got out of that quickly and transferred in the middle of my freshman year to Linfield. Linfield is a private Christian in the Temecula area and was probably one of the best schools I have been to. But with anything at that time of the year. Funding became a major problem and the public schools in the area had just instituted a "No Tolerance" rule, which meant that any problem in the school and you where, kicked out of the district. Which of course left the only other option open to these kids. Linfield. So budget problems again, Linfield needed money and well. I'm sure you can figure the rest out. Next this led me to home school! Now nothing was left to go wrong but anything that I would afflict on myself. I enjoyed this much more. Especially considering that I'm such an independent person. I worked during the summer while I did this. It was fun. Almost to Current Well this led me to Mt. San Jacinto College. Where I first started taking classes and working there. I met a lot of great students and teachers. This is where I first started learning and working with Windows NT and grew to love Networking and the NT Platforms. I worked in the multimedia dept as the NT Tech and really running our NT Lab, which was for High-End animation. Fun stuff. I spent many a long nights trying to get NT to work just right. Trying to get every ounce of power from those machines. It was worth it in the end to see the students working on their projects. Great time. My life now Currently I live in an average sized town called Fallbrook. It is about 15 minutes south of Temecula. Nice place although I hope I don't have to live here too much longer. My allergies are driving me crazy! I'm currently looking for a job someplace in California but will consider other states. As with any people my age (which is 19 BTW) there are some things I would love to go back and change in my life. Some recent and some long term. But over all I figure that nothing is that bad and everything will work out in the end. After my job search I hope to go on another search. One for that special woman that will fill that void in my heart. Hopefully it will come sometime. Just somebody to lie with while watching TV. Somebody to hug. And somebody to be there.... The eternal dream. |
