RECENT EXPERIENCE

• Seventeen years of environmental assessment experience in Southern California counties including research, site inspection, review of manufacturing processes and site usage. Considerable familiarity with regulations and regulatory practices concerning soil/groundwater contamination and remediation/monitoring requirements.
  
• Landfill-related experience with siting, designing, maintaining and regulatory requirements for sanitary landfills. Experience with landfill monitoring and closure reports as well as evaluating feasibility of energy recovery project proposed for a municipal landfill. Direction of a project for soil-gas monitoring and for assessing methane in structural spaces of buildings near a landfill.
  
• Phase II site assessments. Supervised and conducted soil and groundwater sampling for assessment of many sites in Southern California. Preparation of work plans to county Site Assessment & Mitigation standards. Sampling of building materials and potable water for lead; placement of radon detection devices and interpretation of radon data.
  
• Remediation: Assessed various remediation alternatives and assisted clients with selection. Proposed and negotiated remedial activities with regulatory agencies. Monitored progress of soil remediation work, performed follow-up studies, and prepared follow-up reports through to site case closure with regulatory agencies.
  
• Asbestos: Conducted numerous surveys with bulk building material sampling, design and oversight of asbestos abatement projects, air clearance testing, preparation of Operation and Management Plans.
