Jody Stryker, Staff Scientist

Jody has attended Vanderbilt and graduated from Miami University with a BS degree majoring in Ecology with a minor in Journalism.  She also has completed her OSHA 40-hour training requirement for hazardous materials consulting.

Special interests include sky-diving and parachuting of most kinds.  (She has several certifications in this area and flies most every week.)  Jody also surfs and explores with her Jeep; plus, she is a budding student of Marc's in motorcycle trail riding.  She looks forward to state certification as Registered Environmental Assessor.

Prior work includes Veterinary Assistant, manager of a sky-diving company, and leader of a grassroots environmental campaign group.

Katie Hale, Environmental Scientist

Katie came to MBCE immediately after receiving her B.S. degree in Marine Biology from California State College in Fullerton.  Her studies included ecology, coastal biology, and advanced statistics.
Prior experience includes maintenance and quality control for a scientific information website, collection of evidence, and dispute resolution relating to alleged violations of the C
oastal Act, and quality control laboratory work on raw materials and final products for flavor compounding, microbial testing, nutritional labeling, and general assistance in research and development.

Katie enjoys surfing and hiking.  She is currently pursuing her own certification as Registered Environmental Assessor. Latest news! Katie is engaged to Noah Byrne, a local firefighter.

Education: B.S., Marine Biology, Cal State Fullerton, 2007, OSHA 40-hour Health and Safety Training.

Sarah Boogay, Boss's Daughter and All-around Facilitator

A local girl, Sarah suffers distinction as Mr. Boogay's eldest child.  Schooling has included Carlsbad High School and most of California's community colleges, where she considered fields as varied as Physical Therapy, Psychology, and Construction.

She has now settled on a goal, to become a Geologist, and on a plan, attendance at Sonoma State University.  She is accepted and now nearing her begins in December, 2006.

For now, she handles the company books and keeps Marc out of trouble with the IRS, his creditors, etc.; plus she is there to gently remind clients about our invoices when needed.

Special interests are reading, traveling, and motorcycle riding, both street and trail.  (Sarah rides them all, and is unafraid of kick-starting even the most famously difficult old-time bikes in Marc's collection).

Earl McVicar, Field Technician

Earl hails from Valley Center and has spent many years in most California locales, with experience as a commercial fisherman, professional mechanic, and builder.

His education includes studies at Palomar College and several technical schools, and his special skills include welding, heavy equipment operation, and essentially every element of building construction.

Earl is easily the most adept motorcycle rider here.  He has several ranging a weird gamut including very old Harley Davidson, a couple Vespa scooters, and a souped-up midget Honda Monkey-Bike.

Kelsie Smythe, Staff Scientist

Kelsie resigned to return to family in New Mexico.  Call Mr. Boogay for further information, references, etc.

Dog (no accepted name), Mascot

Following many years of in-house amusement by tortoises, chameleons, and iguanas, and recent years with no mascot, MBCE is now daytime-home to a whippet!

He hangs out here (mostly passed-out with his dolls on Marc's couch ) and even attends occasional site visits.

Sometimes he is Pluto and once called Scribbles, per his markings, no name has won complete acceptance.  This is irrelevant; however, as he never comes when called.

He has recently calmed down from excess testosterone thanks to products of neuticles, q.v.. Favorite interests: squeaky toys, naps.

Here he is with another of his best buddies, ET.

Education: (obedience school threatened regularly.)
