Time to Get BusyApril is a big month in landscape maintenance. Any major pruning should be completed this month. It is a good time to take some of your favorite plants like hibiscus and cut them back hard. Doing so provides lots of new growth for abundant and large blooms. It is drastic but serves the purpose. Selective pruning is a much gentler method and looks better in the landscape but takes more work.Everything needs to be fertilized and winter and summer plants will be making their seasonal changes. If you planted your poinsettias from Christmas, this would be a good month to cut them back. Irrigation should be checked at this time. Busy, busy month. |
